Bach Rip Off!

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

What what what! I´m getting use of the time by recording some new old stuff. There are probably no Paul Gilbert Fans among you, but this doesn´t matter anyway. He is the man who arranged and recorded this tune for the heavy metal album Technical Difficulties (Racer X). I learned this piece some how 2 years ago and it took me long term practising, analysing of technique and finding my own fingering. By the way I performed this tune on the Epiphone illustrated on the picture below. My fingers still burning due to the thickness of the (.052) attached strings. AAARRRGH!

Exploring Middle East #1

I decided to name this new child like this, because the photos likely show different places and occasions. Therefore finding a right header won’t sqeeze my tortured brain too much. Anyway have fun with a couple of interesting pictures.

This photo of an gas-station near Latakkia is a legendary one, because it contains so much Syria. Notice the “beware of fire” symbol and the service man, who is fueling our service bus, while smoking gently a cigarette. You rarely witness a situation like this one in Germany.

Nothing special to say about this one. Just the typical set of colors you will encounter, when travelling through Syria. Blue Sky, sand-colored stones and houses.

This photo has been shoot, while travelling on the Homs-Damascus Road. You are seeing محردة (Maharda - thanks to Aloshi). A small settlement in the north of Hama. I also have very interesting photos from Hama. I will post it soon.

Some sort of refinery or factory. I am not sure because I was not the one who took this picture.

This could be Homs or Aleppo. Very green by the way. More frequently seen in the western area of Syria.

It writes ….Haleb (حلب )medina (مدينة)…. which means the …city of Aleppo… this is all I can read for now.

This architecture most likely something the french colonizers brought to Syria once. I have no idea I´m just guessing.

Using a taxi in Aleppo. Nice weather all the time.

The students from Egypt liked dance. Very nice fellows.

The Trip To Lattakia Beach

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

I decided to make some photo series of my worthiest experiences in Syria. It would be a waste, If I don´t do it. So I hope you´ll like it even though it is a bit off-topic regarding this blog beeing a guitar blog.

The Boussaa-Cigarette Man, he was one of our travel guides. The old mercedes-bus is a remarkable one. You noticed its italic feature?

The usual trashy artificial flowers. You´ll find things like these in almost every bus.

An elder womanm who is preparing chubz for us in the traditional way. Very tasty.

And here the woman again, and the guy in the red t-shirt is one of my best friends on planet earth.

He is an official translator for the Syrian football team Al-Karameh.

Very cheap and tasty. S3atar with bread. In arabic: صعتر بال خبز

This mountain is very close to the border of Turkey in the north of Syria, a pretty fancy view.

Artifects Of The Black Rain

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

I´ve decided to put some of my old productions online. One of these old productions was the IN FLAMES song Artifects Of The Black Rain. Soundquality isn´t this good but it could be even worse like you will see soon. I recorded this song 4 years ago unfortunately the Solo is missing due to a bouncing mistake :-(

Oriental Idea in c- minor

Friday, December 9th, 2005

Marhaban!

Kamal and me, negotiated about an weekly meeting to produce some nice atmospheric music with different styles. Today we jammed together to put some oriental sounding theme together wich will be evaluated the next time we´ll meet. Actually this one isn´t a song at all it´s more a kind of brainstorming. I tried play what comes to my mind regardless if it is good or not so good. Unfortunatly we didn´t record Kamal´s rythm guitar, albeit it was great.

Opus 1 in C minor

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

Finally I got my midi control Synthesizer working again and it works absolute great.
I have a bunch of nice realtime controllers to add more expression to the synth sounds.
I was messing around with some string sounds and this little classical sounding theme is the result.
It is in c minor with some keychanges in it.

Opus 1, C minor

Almost sounds like a move theme ;-)

Enjoy!

Beware of high frequencies, keep volumes down to avoid damage to your hearing :-)
