Tach!

Neues Lied. Wieder sehr hektisch und flott. Kein großer Hörgenuss, aber viel Flitzefinger. In einem Ruck aufgenommen und festgestellt: Wurstfinger geben eher nach als Stahlsaiten.

Wer mehr hören möchte - ich habe noch einige Liedchen in Reserve - möge sich bitte im Kommentarabgrund verewigen.

Ich habe es aufgegeben dieses Stück lediglich mit den Fingern zu spielen. Meine Technik ist einfach nicht ausreichend. Mit Plektrum fällt’s mir wesentlich leichter. Und ich kann schön in die Saiten reinlangen, dass es scheppert.

Der ehrlichste Prüfstein, um die eigene Technik einem Check zu unterziehen, ist das Spiel auf einer Akustikgitarre. Ohne Effekt und ohne Kompression wird gnadenlos jede spielerische Schwäche offengelegt. Deshalb bin ich auch relativ froh, diverse spielerische Grenzen überwunden zu haben. Nächste Herausforderung: Mehr Gefühl, Musikalität und Minimalismus
zu entwickeln und in mein Gitarrenspiel einfließen zu lassen.

Mir ist eben etwas sehr eigenartig seltenes gelungen. Ich bin gerade hier in meinem kleinen Heimatstudio am Aufnehmen und Vorbereiten für die nächste Sarazene Probe, die Band, die abgesehen von Dr Snyder legendäre Musiker vereint. Jedenfalls verfalle ich jedes mal dem Drang, statt unseren Riffs, Übungen oder anderen Scharmüzel etwas Improvisiertes zu spielen. Soweit nichts besonderes. In der Regel läuft das bei Gitarristen so: Sie spielen sich die Finger wund bis der Arzt kommt und verschrecken unfreiwillige Mithörer, wie Nachbarn, Mitbewohner und Passanten durch Imitationen von Katzengejammer in B moll. Selten, und ich spreche da nur von mir selbst, entlocke ich dem Eierschneider so twas wie ich hier mal aufgenommen habe:

Das Stück kam mir einfach so in den Sinn, 100% improvisiert, 100% Monsieur Paul, selten die Finger immer 100%ig am richtigen Bund und auch relativ wenig musikalisch, aber viele Phrasierungen und das 4min lang. Wer Gitarre spielt weiß, um die Schwierigkeit ein Gitarrensolo zu spielen und nach 1min die Audienz noch ein wenig bei Laune zu halten.

Ich hoffe ich schaffs zumindest ´ne halbe ^^

What what what! I´m getting use of the time by recording some new old stuff. There are probably no Paul Gilbert Fans among you, but this doesn´t matter anyway. He is the man who arranged and recorded this tune for the heavy metal album Technical Difficulties (Racer X). I learned this piece some how 2 years ago and it took me long term practising, analysing of technique and finding my own fingering. By the way I performed this tune on the Epiphone illustrated on the picture below. My fingers still burning due to the thickness of the (.052) attached strings. AAARRRGH!

Nach zahllosen Syrien-Reportagen und Nahrungsberichten enthält die konstitutive Komponente dieser Seite wieder etwas mehr Gewicht. Die Musik. Abhängig von meinem Freizeitbudget werde ich ein paar feine ganze Stücke, Improvisationen oder Experimente publizieren.

In dem improvisierten Clip kam ein selbstgebasteltes Preset zum Einsatz. Ein alter Vox AC 30 feuert mit leichter Zerre durch eine 2×12 Box und wird mit ordentlich Kompression schäumig geschlagen. Für das passende Ambiente sorgt ein POD XT eigener Auditorium Halleffekt. Falls es unter euch POD XT Besitzer gibt könnt ihr das Preset gerne haben. Mir gefällt es außerordentlich gut, wenn man die Standardpresetes als Vergleichsmaßstab heranzieht.

Marhaban!

Kamal and me, negotiated about an weekly meeting to produce some nice atmospheric music with different styles. Today we jammed together to put some oriental sounding theme together wich will be evaluated the next time we´ll meet. Actually this one isn´t a song at all it´s more a kind of brainstorming. I tried play what comes to my mind regardless if it is good or not so good. Unfortunatly we didn´t record Kamal´s rythm guitar, albeit it was great.

A pretty powerabsorbing day lies behind me. I was learning for my soon occouring test in Multimedia Law 1 and 2. My empty accumulators need to be refreshed before I can go on with it, so it´s likely a great opportunity to cook a tasty dinner. Fortunately my co-inhabitant and Vice-Cuisine Master was present to help me out at a fairly big amount.

This relaxed dinner for two would be incomplete without the right kind of musical underpainting. For this reason I recorded this beatiful Spanish Prelude in E Major:

Very nice acoustic piece of music. You can find the original on the “High Tension Wires” Album by Steve Morse.
His Album received a grammy nomination for the best Intrumental Rock Performance in 1989. I like this acoustic song a lot. !!!

I recorded this within 3 hours on a day´s morning in February, it instantly came to my mind. If I had more time I would add bass and drums too.

Above, there is a picture of an Ibanez PGM500 I used one of these to record this clip. Yeah not really, I ´ve lost the picture of the guitar and took the view out of my window instead. Fitting the song´s title Melting Away there is no snow left as you can see.

Unfortunately my Ibanez PGM500 guitar isn´t set up properly, resulting in some tiny stringbuzz and slightly out of tune notes in the clip.
Is anybody there who can set up my guitar correctly?
